How do I get to Toberua?
Toberua is located on the eastern side of Fiji. Fiji Airways fly direct to Suva, from Auckland and Sydney or a short flight from Nadi International airport will have you to Suva airport in 30 minutes. To ensure your transfer is organised at a time to suit you please advise us or your arrival details at least 48 hours prior. Transfer prices are not included within the room rates.
What time is check-in?
Check in time is 2:00pm. We always do our best to have your room available if you arrive prior to this time.
What time is check-out?
Check out time is 10:00am. Subject to availability you are welcome to use your room after this time if you have an afternoon departure.
What electricity and power point plug do you use?
Electrical power is provided by generator and is 240 volts AC 50Hz. Fiji has three-pin power outlets, which are identical to Australia and New Zealand. If travelling from USA our power is not compatible with your appliances.
Do you have internet/ Wi-Fi available?
Limited Wi-Fi is available on the island – charges apply.
Do you have fans and air-conditioning?
Our rooms are fan cooled; we do not have air-conditioning.
Can I drink the tap water?
Water from the taps is safe to drink or bottled water is available to purchase.
Do you have in-room safes?
There is an Electronic Safe in each bure.
Do you provide beach towels?
Bath and beach towels are provided.
Is there a laundry service available?
A laundry service is available. Charges apply.
What is the smoking policy?
Toberua has a NO SMOKING policy within all Bures, Restaurant and internal Bar & Lounge areas. Ash trays are available on request for outside rooms on the verandas and on the outdoor tables around the bar area.
Is there a kids’ club or babysitting available?
We provide a babysitting or nanny service. If you require a full time nanny please advise us in advance. Babysitting can be arranged while you are at the resort. We do not have a kids’ club but we do have activities that children can participate in.
What are the meal options?
Meals are served ‘table d’hote’ so cannot be purchased per course. A daily gourmet meal plan is available or individual meals can be purchased at the resort. Snacks can be purchased at the bar. Ice blocks, nuts, crisps and chocolate can be purchased at the boutique.
Can you cater for special dietary requirements?
Yes we cater for most dietary requirements. Prior notice is required.
Can I bring my own wine during dinner?
Bringing your own wine to the restaurant is allowed however a corkage fee will be charged.
Can I snorkel off the beach?
Yes, the surrounding reefs are accessible directly from the beach and snorkelling gear is provided.
Can I use drones at Toberua?
For the privacy, safety and tranquillity of guests and staff, personal use of drones or unmanned aerial systems is not permitted on or above Toberua Island Resort.
Do you have a gym?
A small gym is available for use by adults. There is a rowing machine, spin cycle, cross trainer and hand weights.
What is the climate?
Tropical climate with an average day time temperature of around 32°C (92°F) in Summer (Nov to March) and 27°C (82°F) in Winter (Apr to Oct). During November to February, water temperatures can be as high as 29°C (84°F), and on average 24°C (79°F) between June and October. Toberua receives two thirds of the rainfall of Suva.
Do you support a local charity?
Yes we support the primary school at Kaba Point where many of our staffs’ children attend school. Monetary donations can be made at the resort or if you would like to bring something material to donate, books and stationary are always gratefully received.
